Jay Coghlan of Nuclear Watch of New Mexico and Archbishop John C. Wester will be on campus to share their insights on nuclear disarmament and their efforts in dedication to this goal.
Jay Coghlan is the founder of Nuclear Watch New Mexico, an organization that through comprehensive research, public education, and effective citizen action seeks to: promote safety and environmental protection at regional nuclear facilities with mission of diversifying away from nuclear weapons programs; greater accountability and cleanup in the nation-wide nuclear weapons complex; and consistent U.S. leadership toward a world free of nuclear weapons.
Archbishop of Santa Fe John C. Wester made a visit to Hiroshima and Nagasaki that included participation in memorial ceremonies, meetings with survivors (hibakusha), and discussions with key religious and civic leaders.
