Creative expression soothes stress and boosts confidence. It is also fun!
In four, 3-hour sessions we will at first dip our toes into the river of creative expression, then wade, then let the current take us where it will, playing with coloring, collage, drawing, story and poetry in an open and accepting way.
Creative Expression has been shown to decrease stress hormone levels and open new neural pathways. In other words; it can be a pleasant road to happiness, self-confidence and self-realization. In these meetings we will begin with collage, continue with coloring, then drawing, then writing–the idea being not to increase proficiency necessarily, but to explore a new, stress-free way of being and learning. A previous interest in art and/or poetry is not required.
Families as well as individuals are welcome. Minimum of 14 years old to participate.
Meetings run April 7, 14, 21, 28 from 6-9 pm on the WNMU campus.
